Tips and Trick on how to answer PMP Questions

PMP Questions not based on theory only but also situational questions. Therefore, there is a tips and trick. Read below:

Project Manager Questions

1. Servant Leader characteristic must understand by heart as it is the most popular questions in People Topic. 

2. If there is any issue with the team member, never reprimand in front of everyone. Choose to resolve privately before giving stern warning.

3. If Team member is not capable of the job, Project Manager must assess first before taking any action. Solution to it are usually mentor or sending them for training instead of removing them.

Situational Questions

1. Project manager will not choose to escalate first. PM must always mentor, discuss with team member before escalate.

2. PM should not take action first. It should be assess first. You can always see available options, usually 3 are action and 1 are assess. Example Question from Oliver

43. According to the project plan, a contractor is scheduled to deliver some software components today afternoon. A regular monthly payment is due to be made to this contractor tomorrow.

    You and your project team received a note this morning informing you that the software delivery will be delayed by 2 weeks.

    What should you do right now?

    a. You should delay the payment also for 2 weeks.

    b. You must immediately find and change to a different contractor.

    c. You should consult with the contractor to understand and possibly resolve the delivery issues. This may influence further payments.

    d. You should make the payment and reschedule the project incorporating the delay. 

You can see, a,b,d are action solution. While Answer C is assess first. If you can understand this, you can easily score the mark.

3. PM must be reactive when there is any situational issue. PM must initiate to solve and take action. 

How to answer PMP Questions?

1. Start by crossing out the answer. It is always that 2 is irrelevant and there is two that you need to choose. Relate both answer back to the question and you will get the answer.

2. Stay awake and have correct mindset of a PM. 200 questions is going to be a mental challenge during exam.
